No Yard Sale Community Guidelines

Effective Date: August 8, 2026

Welcome to the No Yard Sale Community

Welcome to No Yard Sale—a marketplace built around one simple idea:

Neighbors should be able to buy, sell, donate, and connect locally without the hassle of a traditional yard sale.

We're more than an online marketplace.

We're building a community where people can confidently meet, communicate honestly, keep their commitments, and treat one another with respect.

Every listing, every message, every Meet Up, and every completed transaction helps shape the kind of marketplace we're building together.

These Community Guidelines explain the standards we expect from everyone who uses No Yard Sale.

They work alongside our:

  • Terms & Conditions
  • Privacy Policy
  • Payment & Wallet Policy
  • Show Up Guarantee Policy
  • Prohibited Items Policy
  • and other Platform policies.

By using No Yard Sale, you agree to follow these Community Guidelines.

A Welcome from Norman

Hi neighbor!

I'm Norman, Chief Weekend Protector and Official Spokesgnome here at No Yard Sale.

My job isn't just protecting weekends from endless yard sales—it's helping build a marketplace where people actually enjoy buying and selling locally.

That starts with something simple:

Be honest.

Be respectful.

Keep your word.

Help others have a great experience.

If we all do those things, everyone wins.

Let's build something amazing together.

Our Community Values

Everything we do is built around a few simple principles.

Respect

Treat every person with courtesy.

Even when you disagree.

Honesty

Describe Listings accurately.

Communicate truthfully.

Honor your commitments.

Reliability

When you schedule a Meet Up, someone is making time for you.

Respect that commitment.

Safety

Protect yourself.

Protect others.

Report suspicious activity.

Accountability

Everyone makes mistakes.

What matters is communicating honestly and taking responsibility when things don't go as planned.

Community

Every positive interaction makes No Yard Sale better for everyone.

1. Treat Everyone with Respect

Behind every profile is a real person.

Please communicate with the same courtesy you would expect from someone meeting you in person.

We encourage:

  • friendly communication;
  • respectful negotiation;
  • patience;
  • kindness;
  • professionalism;
  • understanding.

We do not allow:

  • harassment;
  • bullying;
  • threats;
  • intimidation;
  • stalking;
  • discrimination;
  • hate speech;
  • personal attacks;
  • abusive language directed toward another user;
  • doxing or sharing another person's private information;
  • encouraging violence or illegal activity.

Healthy disagreement is acceptable.

Personal attacks are not.

Norman's Tip

Today's buyer could become tomorrow's seller.

Treat every interaction like you're helping a neighbor—because you probably are.

2. Create Honest Listings

Trust begins with honest Listings.

Always:

  • use accurate titles;
  • upload current photos;
  • describe the item's actual condition;
  • disclose known defects;
  • accurately identify included accessories;
  • identify missing parts;
  • remove Listings once they're no longer available;
  • choose the correct category.

Never:

  • use misleading photos;
  • intentionally hide damage;
  • copy another seller's Listing;
  • post fake Listings;
  • intentionally misrepresent an item's value or condition;
  • use deceptive titles;
  • misuse keywords to increase visibility.

Honest Listings help buyers make informed decisions and help sellers build stronger marketplace reputations.

Donation Listings

Donation Listings should accurately describe the item being offered.

Donating an item does not reduce the expectation of honesty.

Recipients deserve accurate descriptions just as much as buyers.

Service Listings

If you advertise services:

  • accurately describe your experience;
  • accurately represent licenses or certifications;
  • never falsely claim qualifications;
  • provide truthful pricing information where applicable;
  • communicate professionally.

Users should never misrepresent professional credentials.

Norman Says

A good Listing doesn't just sell an item.

It builds trust.

And trust is worth more than any single sale.

3. Keep Your Commitments

One of the biggest frustrations in local marketplaces is scheduling a Meet Up only to have someone disappear.

No Yard Sale is different.

When you schedule a Meet Up, you're making a commitment to another member of the community.

Please:

  • arrive on time;
  • communicate delays promptly;
  • use the Extension Request feature when appropriate;
  • cancel as early as possible if necessary;
  • complete required arrival verification;
  • respect the other person's time.

Reliable participation helps everyone.

Repeated no-shows, repeated last-minute cancellations, abuse of appointment features, or repeated failures to communicate may affect:

  • Norman's Trust Score;
  • badge eligibility;
  • Show Up Guarantee participation;
  • Marketplace privileges;
  • other Platform features.

Good Faith Matters

Life happens.

Traffic.

Weather.

Family emergencies.

Vehicle trouble.

Unexpected work obligations.

If something prevents you from arriving on time, communicate honestly through No Yard Sale.

Most scheduling problems can be solved with a simple message.

The Show Up Guarantee is designed to encourage communication—not punish users acting in good faith.

Norman's Reminder

A quick message saying "I'm running ten minutes late" is always better than leaving someone wondering where you are.

That's how neighbors treat neighbors.

4. Communicate Clearly and Respectfully

Good communication helps create successful marketplace experiences.

Whether you're asking a question, negotiating a price, scheduling a Meet Up, or discussing a service, communicate honestly and respectfully.

We encourage you to:

  • respond within a reasonable time whenever possible;
  • ask questions politely;
  • negotiate respectfully;
  • communicate delays promptly;
  • notify others if your plans change;
  • remain professional even when you choose not to complete a transaction.

Healthy negotiation is welcome.

Harassment is not.

Please Don't Use Messaging To:

  • threaten another user;
  • harass or intimidate;
  • send repeated unwanted messages;
  • pressure someone after they've declined an offer;
  • send spam;
  • impersonate another person;
  • conduct phishing attempts;
  • request passwords or verification codes;
  • distribute malicious links or software;
  • solicit unrelated products or services without authorization;
  • encourage illegal activity.

Messages sent through No Yard Sale may be reviewed when reasonably necessary to investigate reports, enforce Platform policies, protect users, or comply with applicable law.

Norman's Tip

A respectful conversation today often leads to another successful transaction tomorrow.

Building trust starts with a simple "hello."

5. Norman's Trust Score

Every interaction helps shape the No Yard Sale community.

Norman's Trust Score is designed to recognize positive marketplace participation and encourage reliable, respectful behavior.

Your Trust Score may reflect a variety of marketplace activities, including:

  • honoring Meet Ups;
  • communicating in good faith;
  • completing arrival verification;
  • maintaining honest Listings;
  • positive buyer and seller participation;
  • eligible ratings and reviews;
  • verified account information;
  • compliance with Platform policies.

Norman's Trust Score is intended to reward positive participation—not to punish honest mistakes.

Users who consistently contribute to a trustworthy marketplace may become eligible for additional badges, features, or other benefits.

What Doesn't Hurt Your Trust

Not every unsuccessful transaction is a negative experience.

Examples that generally do not reduce Norman's Trust Score include:

  • deciding not to purchase an item after inspection;
  • a seller declining an offer;
  • mutually agreed appointment changes;
  • good-faith cancellations completed through the Platform;
  • respectful negotiation;
  • reporting genuine safety concerns.

Trust is built through behavior—not whether every transaction results in a sale.

What May Affect Trust

Repeated or serious violations may affect Norman's Trust Score.

Examples include:

  • confirmed no-shows;
  • repeated last-minute cancellations;
  • fraudulent activity;
  • fake Listings;
  • manipulation of Platform features;
  • repeated confirmed policy violations;
  • abuse of the Show Up Guarantee;
  • confirmed harassment;
  • manipulation of ratings or reviews.

Norman's Trust Score is only one factor considered when administering certain Platform features.

6. Earn Badges the Right Way

Badges recognize positive contributions to the No Yard Sale community.

They celebrate consistency—not perfection.

Depending on your marketplace activity, you may earn badges recognizing achievements such as:

  • reliable Meet Up attendance;
  • trusted buying;
  • trusted selling;
  • successful donations;
  • account verification;
  • marketplace milestones;
  • outstanding community participation.

Badges are earned.

They cannot be purchased.

They cannot be transferred.

They are not guaranteed to remain permanently associated with an Account.

Badges may be corrected, suspended, restored, or removed when necessary to maintain the integrity of the Platform.

Norman Says

Badges don't make someone trustworthy.

Their actions do.

The badges simply celebrate those actions.

7. Help Keep Meet Ups Safe

Meet Ups are one of the best parts of buying and selling locally.

Help keep them safe by:

  • meeting in public whenever practical;
  • meeting during daylight hours when possible;
  • bringing a friend if you feel more comfortable;
  • inspecting items before paying;
  • verifying the item matches the Listing;
  • communicating through the Platform;
  • trusting your instincts.

If something doesn't feel right, leave.

Your safety is always more important than completing a transaction.

Protect Yourself

Never:

  • share your password;
  • share one-time verification codes;
  • send money outside approved Platform methods unless you fully understand the risks;
  • reveal unnecessary financial information;
  • ignore suspicious behavior.

If you believe another user is attempting to scam you, report the activity immediately.

8. Fraud Has No Place Here

No Yard Sale has zero tolerance for fraud.

Examples include:

  • fake Listings;
  • fake buyers;
  • fake sellers;
  • counterfeit goods;
  • identity theft;
  • stolen property;
  • fake payment confirmations;
  • altered payment screenshots;
  • fake verification documents;
  • chargeback abuse;
  • GPS spoofing;
  • fake arrival confirmations;
  • appointment farming;
  • manipulation of Norman's Trust Score;
  • manipulation of badge eligibility;
  • use of multiple Accounts to deceive users;
  • impersonation;
  • phishing;
  • social engineering;
  • abuse of Wallet features;
  • abuse of the Show Up Guarantee.

Fraud harms everyone in the community.

Users engaging in fraudulent activity may lose access to the Platform permanently.

Prop Up Media LLC may cooperate with payment processors and law enforcement where appropriate.

Norman's Reminder

If something seems too good to be true...

Slow down.

Ask questions.

Protect yourself.

Your instincts are one of the best safety tools you have.

9. Respect Business Accounts

Businesses are part of our marketplace too.

Business and Marketer Accounts should:

  • advertise honestly;
  • accurately represent their services;
  • honor advertised offers;
  • avoid deceptive claims;
  • comply with applicable law;
  • respect users' privacy.

Businesses may not:

  • impersonate another company;
  • advertise prohibited services;
  • distribute malicious links;
  • misrepresent pricing;
  • submit misleading advertisements;
  • abuse advertising features.

Our goal is to create a marketplace where local businesses and community members can benefit together.

10. Ratings and Reviews

Ratings and reviews help build trust throughout the No Yard Sale community.

If you leave a rating or review, it should reflect your genuine experience with another user.

Helpful reviews are:

  • honest;
  • respectful;
  • relevant;
  • based on an actual marketplace interaction;
  • focused on facts rather than personal attacks.

Reviews should help future buyers and sellers make informed decisions.

Please Do Not

  • leave fake reviews;
  • purchase or sell reviews;
  • offer incentives in exchange for reviews;
  • threaten another user to obtain a positive review;
  • retaliate against another user with a false review;
  • create multiple Accounts to influence ratings;
  • pressure another user into changing a review.

Prop Up Media LLC may remove reviews that violate these Community Guidelines or other Platform policies.

Norman's Tip

The best reviews tell people what happened—not how angry you were.

Honest experiences help everyone make better decisions.

11. Help Protect the Community

Every member of No Yard Sale helps keep the marketplace safe.

If you see activity that appears dishonest, unsafe, or suspicious, please report it using the reporting tools available within the Platform.

Examples include:

  • fake Listings;
  • prohibited items;
  • harassment;
  • scams;
  • fraud;
  • impersonation;
  • dangerous Meet Up behavior;
  • abusive messages;
  • fake reviews;
  • suspicious advertisements;
  • misuse of Norman's Trust Score or badges;
  • abuse of the Show Up Guarantee.

Reports help us investigate potential issues and improve the marketplace for everyone.

Report Responsibly

Please report only genuine concerns.

Submitting intentionally false, misleading, or retaliatory reports may itself violate these Community Guidelines.

Not every report will result in enforcement action.

Each report is reviewed using available information and applicable Platform policies.

12. Respect the Platform

No Yard Sale is designed to provide a fair and reliable marketplace for everyone.

Users may not attempt to interfere with the normal operation of the Platform.

Examples include:

  • creating fake Accounts;
  • circumventing suspensions;
  • manipulating Norman's Trust Score;
  • manipulating badge eligibility;
  • manipulating ratings or reviews;
  • appointment farming;
  • scraping Platform data;
  • using unauthorized bots or automation;
  • reverse engineering Platform software except where permitted by law;
  • interfering with Platform security;
  • attempting unauthorized access;
  • distributing malware;
  • abusing Platform features.

Respecting the Platform helps us continue improving it for everyone.

13. How We Enforce These Guidelines

Most users never experience enforcement because they simply treat others with respect.

When necessary, however, Prop Up Media LLC may take action to protect the community.

Possible enforcement actions include:

  • educational reminders;
  • warnings;
  • Listing removal;
  • advertisement removal;
  • message restrictions;
  • temporary Marketplace restrictions;
  • Meet Up restrictions;
  • Wallet restrictions;
  • Show Up Guarantee restrictions;
  • Norman's Trust Score adjustments, where appropriate;
  • badge suspension or removal;
  • temporary Account suspension;
  • permanent Account termination;
  • referral to law enforcement where appropriate.

The type of enforcement depends on factors such as:

  • severity;
  • frequency;
  • prior history;
  • user cooperation;
  • community safety;
  • applicable law.

Our goal is always to encourage positive participation whenever reasonably possible.

14. Appeals and Reviews

If you believe a moderation decision was made in error, you may contact No Yard Sale and request that the decision be reviewed.

Depending on the circumstances, we may request additional information before completing our review.

Examples may include:

  • supporting documentation;
  • screenshots;
  • messages;
  • appointment details;
  • payment records;
  • other relevant information.

Not every enforcement action is eligible for appeal.

Prop Up Media LLC reviews appeals in good faith using the information reasonably available at the time.

Submitting an appeal does not guarantee that the original decision will be changed.

15. Community Pledge

The No Yard Sale community is built one interaction at a time.

By using the Platform, we encourage every member of the community to embrace the following principles:

I will:

  • treat others with respect;

  • honor my Meet Ups whenever possible;
  • help keep the marketplace safe;
  • report suspicious activity responsibly;
  • protect my Account;
  • contribute to a community built on trust.

  • buy locally;
  • sell locally;
  • donate locally;
  • connect with neighbors;
  • support local businesses;
  • build trust through reliable participation.

As No Yard Sale grows, these Community Guidelines may evolve to reflect new features, technologies, and community needs.

Norman's Final Thoughts

Great marketplaces aren't built by software alone.

They're built by people who choose to be honest, communicate openly, respect each other's time, and lend a helping hand when they can.

Every truthful Listing, every respectful message, every kept Meet Up, and every act of kindness helps strengthen this community.

Thank you for choosing to be part of No Yard Sale.

Together, we're proving that buying and selling locally can be safer, friendlier, and more reliable—without the hassle of a traditional yard sale.

No signs. No tables. No yard sale.

19. Support, AI, and Record Integrity

Users may not abuse support, messaging, Safe Meetup, advertising, or Ask Norman to harass others; impersonate people or organizations; manipulate trust, safety, payment, or verification records; extract confidential information; bypass access controls; submit malicious instructions or files; scrape protected data; or cause AI systems to disclose credentials, private account data, or internal safeguards. Attempts to falsify arrival, cash, wallet, advertising, or support records may lead to removal, suspension, investigation, and preservation of relevant records.
